The furore has subsided over riots that broke out at the end of July, but what now following an ugly turn of events following a stabbing incident against children in Southport?
The safety of children is a concern because of the teenager involved who targeted minors. It doesn’t justify the unrest that followed, but it warrants further inquiry into it.
The choice is strange, and the incident is horrifying. The mind of a younger person shouldn’t be set in such a way as it shouldn’t follow a kids group is a trigger.
Yet, Axel Rudakubana struck out and killed and injured children and adults during a dance class. This is a classic instance of crime making no sense, as it usually is.
It’s the way of a criminal to do things that are odd, or strange acts. It’s because they think about it and it results in crimes that include choices we don’t make.
The adulthood of Rudakubana will be filled with guilt for what he’s done, but his age isn’t important to working out a response to it now as much as his set of choices.
The fact is we make choices at a young age or old, but it’s not youth that should alert us to the types of thoughts people have. It can be irrelevant to what we think of.
