  • Housing rights in the UK

A second reading appeared in Parliament today for a Renters’ Rights Bill. It was an ably discussed hour or so, albeit long on passion and short on particular detail. I’ve been told it’s not easy bringing up endless particular circumstances, but a few were read out to MP’s credit.

The situation renters find themselves in can be atypical, or just plain straightforward. I once took part briefly in a research project on housing and decided to pose as a renter myself. There were some working on it who found it too emotional to handle initially.

I once punted at a landlord who was unsuspecting, and asked indirectly how long I’d have living in the property. He quipped “about five months”, and left it hanging. He meant less than six months before he’d throw me out like the others. He was less scrupulous, of course.

  • Flat fixer located

A suspect in a housing scam in London has been located today.

It’s thought she has a few false aliases, one being “Lynn”, a property developer based in the UK.
