President Trump is watching the Iran situation like a hawk, having a generally good view of the country following his own extensive business knowledge picked up during an active life around the world. He sees things in the terms of what exists, and is no doubt consulting his own charts for what’s next.
Iran is scheduled to snap back into a more common sort of activity, involving the largest parts of the population and focusing on activities familiar to all. They go down for such times as these, preferring to hide from Israeli missiles and taking cover if America is involved.
This changes the perspective, putting human issues first and probably focusing the Supreme Leadership and political class on such concerns for a short while. This will pass, and as expectations settle on the population at large, the real matters of the day will come through. It will cue a huge propaganda operation.
America’s test is not making the mistakes that we’ve seen in minutiae in times past. Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan all come to mind. Their diplomatic teams need to be careful, and cover the gaps that emerge as infighting erupts. It’s difficult territory, and yet the world expects their good intentions to convert into more intelligent realities.
