  • Revealed: “The Rollercoaster”

    The old wives tales we have, family photo albums, or lores and myths of our nation are important to us. If any of those things resonate with you it’s perhaps because one or more of them have agreed with each other in your thinking.

    If it sounds right put together we think it probably is right somehow according to our true nature. These things aren’t religious but it’s a sort of spiritual way of looking at our lives. In the meantime the religious can teach us what they think about the greater things.

    In this context a sad story or a horrible incident isn’t the easiest of plot twists to include. It may be a close one or a friend who gets caught up in an accident and this leaves us wondering why. Our sense of love and companionship is shattered but it’s what made the times together meaningful, because we loved each other.

    There was a story I overheard in a county here in the UK that shook me once I heard it. I’d listened to a few ‘whisperings’ here or there and someone once phrased it as a tipoff. It was something called “The Rollercoaster” but it wasn’t a faire ground ride.

    It wasn’t fun at all but an emotionally manipulative “cult” which promised to make anyone who joined feel love or hate, or jealousy or worth, or the opposite or equal of whatever it was that preoccupied the person.

    Some people in life feel numb because they experience something or didn’t understand what’s going on. They may also feel an imbalance of one emotion over another. This “cult” tapped into such feelings and drew people away into its strange ways.

    There were some members who were eclectic in what they felt and were alternative in the way they saw things. The sad fact is these things happen but the good news is people can recover. The interruptions or episodes in our lives are not there forever.

    This “cult” was shut down because in actuality it was a criminal outfit. Thankfully the law enforcement involved could see it was more of a crime than a way of life. There were members who didn’t recover to full health but many more were saved from harm by these people.

  • Who are the Southport kids?

    The stabbing attack in Southport has rocked a nation.

    In short order riots led by agitator’s erupted in neighbourhoods and spread across the UK. The fact remains children were at the centre of the initial incident and not thugs on streets.

    Sadly three lives were lost and eight were injured alongside a few adults. The narrative so far is the UK is sinking into a far-right whirlpool of public disorder but an incident such as this warrants further comment about the age of its victims.

    The context is hardly enlightening. It’s the target themselves who are the point.

    The reasons for political agitation are part of a long-running dispute between street activists and journalistic personalities. The tit-for-tat is the usual tattle of a separate class.

    Yet this incident isn’t a likely occurrence in the UK.

    If it wasn’t to indulge a sadistic sort of rage that a young man has, why did a normal boy by all appearances seek to do it? The facts and stats about this young man’s life may yet reveal more about the steps he took to a horrible act.

    It still remains that children’s lives were lost in a terrible tragedy.

    The focus is on these and not yobbish behaviour.
