A train journey shouldn’t make you come face to face with any racist let alone a leader of a white racist group.
It did however.
I spottted a girl wearing insignia of “White Girls Die”, a group that operates in more rural or leafy suburbs and neighbourhoods.
It wasn’t pleasant. The air around a racist is thick with ignorance. It doesn’t draw the right crowd, either.
However a study of what racists are right now brings out the facts.
They think they’re targeted because they’re white. They believe their culture is under threat. They think it’s all to do with skin types.
They’re not easy to follow. They hide. They cover their tracks. They do normal things like us.
However, a single report makes a difference.
Their behaviour can be recorded and analysed. It’s a sort of camouflage for hatred that people wear. It doesn’t take much for it to split at its seams.
