The cooperation of allies following the Second World War helped set up a new world order against a backdrop of rising tides of antisemitism, racism, and generic hatreds. This surge of defeatism now peddled by a conspiratorial “Left” could have derailed economic development and lowered border security far before our present times.
The resistance to such a set of hysterical activists is found more strongly in the sharing of information, vital data, and some intelligence to make our collective work coherent, concise, and considered. This is also a requirement now of a superpower like the USA, although (unbelievably) some legal figures still believe ‘going it alone’ is possible.
The nature of it is neither sacrificial nor indulgent. It simply reflects felt needs between both, and fills gaps in knowledge to the benefit of either democracy. It’s an arrangement because the process has to be secure and mutually beneficial. Apart from it the world order we’re a part of wouldn’t exist. It’s crucial to our mutual endeavours. It’s a safer way to be leaders together.
