It’s usually a religious society who decide on sexual matters. As today is more secular less attention is paid to it. A law is tittle-tattle to lots of people. All behaviour is decided by decisions we make.
The issue of an age of consent is never really settled. The importance is consent in any circumstance. There are rapes that take place in all age groups. It’s not a matter of another year or so.
It’s a free choice. The reason that goes into it frames it for a lot of us. In a way, it’s how we seek to understand it that counts. A firmer handle on sex makes it safer for all those not so sure.
