Our intelligence services – principally comprised of MI5 and SIS (MI6) – are under constant pressure. They face it domestically and overseas, by hostile actors here and in other states.
The rudimentariness of the roles of those engaged in these particular services mean that threats are met on a regular basis like the essential military bodies we also have.
Their work, however, is intelligence-based, as the names suggest. It isn’t active engagement on a battlefield, but along the lines of ordinary life. The tasks are mental, and demand a lot.
The adverse reactions of people here and around the world to our existence, achievements, and promise are stark. However, our experiences and learning give us the advantage.
