MI5 is seen as an important organisation for some to work for in different parts of the UK. It fits into lore as a basic intelligence force for a domestic response to illegal activity. It’s a romantic appeal for an essentially military type of exercise. The look of it makes it an attractive job prospect.
However, it’s been in disarray. The fact is military departments in the UK are extremely poorly organised. The fact every branch of the British Army suffers from endemic miscommunication bodes ill for the one that deals with it. It’s now the experience of countless generations of Agents before.
The controversy is unresolved. It continues. There’s a sadistic level of apathy in the Army about it. The MOD doesn’t care, according to one source I spoke to. In fact, Agents are routinely harassed such as facing arrest, interrogation, and physical harm at random. It’s behaviour of a broken state.
