Their Prime Minister has survived an attempt to drag him in front of a committee that might have scrutinised more than just a few conversations about a dodgy appointment.
This had buoyed the feelings of Labour party faithful. They stared death in the face but now have the prospect of a continuation of his leadership after a hiccup that might have led to his downfall.
They certainly believe they’ve made an impact while holding the keys to Number 10. The Labour spirit is fervent as they retell some of their achievements so far.
Such a belief in the Prime Minister’s stability may help them to ride through the rest of his time in government. They need it because their ambitions are large and there’s a long way to go in seeing results in other matters.
