The EU is rightly concerned about Russia

In geopolitics, the State of Russia is a problematic reality. Their political statements and supposed ‘causes’ trouble elite decision makers. Their plans and military purposes worry strategic planners. The unpredictability of their ways is a reason for the antagonism against them at the highest levels.

The famed enigma is actually becoming a problem in political calculations. The EU is now concerned that real problems are on the horizon for its Members. While muted and consisting of soft measures only now, the expectation is that new steps will be taken to secure the Continent.

This would send European paranoia on an upward trend that could in itself have disastrous consequences. People have a tendency to react themselves, too, and a further fracturing of populations may sink any hopes of economic strength in the free zone.
