The United Nations has its place in world affairs but its voice isn’t heard. The trouble is disagreements already exist in writing. There are also agreements.
The UK’s pledge for 100 years of support for Ukraine is indicative of it. We support each other. We get on with it and create our own alliances – or disagreements.
The lack of proactivity on the part of the UN is due to this sort of international paper wrangling. It will never get what it wants because it has no real say in it.
Its future is predicated on its ability to rip up agreements and unite the world under some kind of peace treaty it can arbitrate, and draw others together to debate.
