Polls

  • Gov. approval low

In the embers of its first year this government is in a struggle all by itself. A 23 June poll by YouGov shows an overwhelming 61% disapprove of its performance. It only has a 16% approval rating otherwise among those that don’t like it.

  • Approval of Gov. remains low

YouGov’s ongoing approval rating for the current government proves to be an interesting barometer of public opinion.

The question, “Do you approve or disapprove of the Government’s record to date?”, elicits the feelings of ordinary voters.

It’s shown a lacklustre sentiment of late. The most recent result for 26 May is 65% disapprove and 15% approve.

This isn’t a good standing for a Labour government.

It’s taken aim at farmers, and some pensioners, and it shows. The ongoing Dover Crossings doesn’t help it either.

The discord in society at large also negatively affects feelings about progress in Westminster.

  • Gov. approval sluggish

In a poll for YouGov, approval in the government shows only a slight improvement since the start of the year. It’s at 19% by 10 March, 2% higher than 6 January. Its disapproval is 59%, which shows a 3% improvement.

  • Gov approval slips

In recent YouGov analysis, the government’s approval rating has slid in recent weeks. It’s now at 26%, which is 3% lower than in July, the last time it was measured. Its disapproval rating is at 47%.

This is significantly better than Rishi Sunak, who ended his Premiership with a 12% approval rating, and 73% disapproval. The tracker is based on a sample of between 1,521 and 13,996 people in the UK.
