    Russia’s war in Ukraine is proving painful for Russians as fuel shortages are said to frustrate the people in view of requisition measures imposed by military authorities to power their war effort.

    Their Deputy Prime Minister has said the situation is easing up in different parts of the country. But his comments indicate that the problems have been widespread.

    The Russian state is ‘closed’ as a matter of policy and this affects media reporting. However, its industry of news and journalism is subject to international requirements.
