It’s not often a bunch of police officers get cornered, but it happened in London.
The Metropolitan Police had an issue with officers going awry. In-between statistics there were gaps with bad behaviour.
The antics were verging on the disturbed.
A resident in an to SW1 address told me of a police officer who regularly stood outside her house in “commando” gear.
She had no idea why.
He shouted obscenities. He raged about global affairs. He blamed “the media” for this, that, and the other. He brought beer and drank it on the curb side.
The reports flooded in as requests were made.
The information led to rounding up twenty officers. They were reprimanded. A few got suspended.
One was sacked.
It goes to show that causing a nuisance is breaking the law no matter what side of it you are.

Policing public opinion
In our tech-savvy, digitally connected world an opinion is easier to get around than ourselves. A quick post on X, for example, elicits likes and shares which means thoughts can move quicker than speeches.
The truth is the opposite, but like-minded bedfellows can easily slip into each other’s feeds to reenforce inaccurate perceptions. It’s an act that, accompanied by a photo, may make a few converts as well.
Take for example a user by the name of Chris Hobbs on X, who posted a photo of three officers on a break and doing a bit of light shopping. Also without a basket in sight, they’re lambasted as time-wasters.
The policing beat is long and arduous, and while a lot of casual intelligence gathering is done in this way, a pop into a shop isn’t a break in duties or the cycle of catching criminals. In fact, it makes a lot of us feel safer.
The occasional snap shows where police officers really are, and what they’re doing. Irregardless of opinions on policing, it proves officers are protecting our wellbeing outside and not always indoors typing away.

A criminal known to work on behalf of paying clients was seen loitering in Glasgow city centre earlier today. The suspect pictured is known in the local area in both local and underground policing and surveillance circles.
He’s not known to be a threat to the local community at large. He may also have been employed in the local community at some point though his background is considered a grey area.

In the past she’s used fake aliases. Her appearance is also largely the same despite her status as an outlaw.

People trafficking: The truth
The truth of people trafficking is that it’s tough. It’s tough on its victims. It’s tough on its hosts. It’s tough on those of us who fight it. It really is.
I’ve met folks who’ve fought off people traffickers at the get-go and they find it to be extremely difficult work.
It’s emotionally draining to do it. It doesn’t fit in the mindset of those who believe our world is essentially safe and secure. It changes their way of seeing the world. It presents endless operational difficulties.
It’s fair to say it’s one of the most difficult jobs in the world.
It’s genuinely tough work.
They have to see the pain on a victims face firsthand and in this instance a law enforcement agent has a sordid night ahead of him or her. It’s not easy to shake off the look of someone having believed their life was over and you’re their only source of hope.
It’s also a dark and shady business and so much more to it that’s disturbing. It takes a lot to shake off an encounter. There’s no use getting rid of knowing its details because it has to be dealt with.
A job’s a job in most of our eyes but for others it’s beside a coastline or further in land where trouble erupts. It’s a wet, dirty, and spit-filled job because the cretins that do it are not civilised and they’re unwieldy.
It isn’t the choice of the police to bring out guns to a firefight. It’s just what happens when criminals fight back and our law enforcement agencies have done such a brave job in doing it. Let’s just hope it works.
