Russia has determined to sink a nation but it has no value for the rest of the world. China nor any other of its crony friends have anything to gain from the incursion. The selfishness is evident and the time for it to stop has come.
Ukraine is a self-determined democracy and has shown an unprecedented level of economic resilience. Its people are rightly proud of their progress and deserve the respect they’ve won.
Russia is the selfish bureaucrat in this drama. It marshals negotiating rooms and harasses advisors to get its own way. The war aims are framed as nationalistic and nothing is on the table for other nations.
Such a puerile war necessitates condemnation worldwide but also cessation. There’s no point to more bloodshed from where we stand, and the beginning of the end is a release from the grip of death.
