The problems we’ve got are numerous and not easy to overcome. As a result of feckless networking, UK citizens have encouraged and even incited crime to arrive at our shores. This hasn’t just been a deluge of offshore small boats, but also an overuse of airports by criminals and crime gangs aplenty.
The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office has such a huge brief because of the world that we have to encompass. Yet, their thinking is small compared to it. Their ‘decisions’ have been futile, in some cases, and has wasted precious time. More evidence exists in private realms than public for a change of direction to safeguard the UK and protect the public.
The Labour party has a poor track record of providing answers to these problems. It has sponsored some of the protest activity that disrupts core Government systems. Their flagrant abuse of the law has done lasting harm to our way of life. At least 10% of the population believe in non-engagement as a permanent position on politics, and they carry blame to an extent for this.
The matter can’t be cleared up in a momentary briefing or by apologising to camera. The UK public expects a correction in place of a mistake. This builds hope for better outcomes in future. The public facing role has to change, too, to ensure other countries don’t use it as their starting point, and cause more trouble.
The work of a politician is political, not reverential or slight, and it needs to be done openly at all times. The news yesterday has to be interpreted through a course of action, not by immediate impression. The silliness of activism has to give way to a return to sanity. The triggered here don’t have a place.
