President Putin has rudely described Ukrainians as Nazi’s, but people still cosy up to this narcissistic leader as if he’s a moral hero. There’s no discernable effect on morality or goodness in Russian society, and yet he’s held up – quietly – as a strong man for liberal times.
Russia has one of the largest gay populations in all Europe, and yet this isn’t featured in the sermonising diatribes here. Putin himself is also famously a non-member of any church denomination. But the fact of it doesn’t occur to be important to religious chiefs back here.
The man himself appears to regard his tirades as mere statements. He’s obviously drunk the blue juice. In Europe, this isn’t true.
