The Garrick Club in London is said to have an illustrious past, yet its recent history is a lot more interesting.
It was taken over by top brass in the British Army to be used as a barracks for high ranking Officers.
Later, it was found to have been turned into a fully-fledged “Secret HQ” to co-opt all the Army’s work.
It’s illegal in the UK, but the temptation to do it proved too much. It led to a lot of chaos for a short while.
