For nearly two years, Sir Keir Starmer MP (Holborn and St Pancras/Labour) has been urged to take the whole of the country out of a mess rather than just to pursue his narrow aims while in office. In hindsight, while Labour will celebrate having raised it to national attention, to support its passage as an agenda-setting moral, the creaking infrastructure of the State needs looking at, and bigger threats to National Security are still out there, waiting to be tackled.
