Ann Widdecombe’s death looms large, and the suggestion of murder is yet again an awkward matter for Members assembled. The fact of a loss of a former MP by possible foul play is becoming an eerie occurrence, raising suggestions of problems running concurrent through UK Politics that may not be resolved as easily as people think.
Tuesday
Andy Burnham MP (Makerfield/Labour) brings the Makerfield vibes to the House for his reaction to the ‘Hillsborough Law’ case making its way through the Commons right now. This is the right setup for the Labour MP, but a desperate break is needed from narrow causes from the past to make any progress on the nationwide issues that are coming up like maintenance issues.
Wednesday
Prime Minister’s Questions.
The Prime Minister is on his way out. It’s a sad affair. Anyone would think the divorce is happening for a reason. Just under two years makes it a pleasant exchange. Longer, and we may have even seen tears in there. Such is the stuff of life.
