In our Royal history, the preeminent figures have always been monarchs. It changes if there’s an accession, but not otherwise. It makes for a vibrant if controversial type of rule.
The way of it is clear, and it’s kept simple. Our whole constitution is built around it, and we have our place and function because of it. The past is our present, and our future.
