    The hits by Israel target what it sees to be imminent threats to its survival. While the motive to do so is there, the conjecture is in need of being trusted than followed.

    Iran’s response has been to avenge the assassination of its former Supreme Leader, since this has political implications in the region, just to start with.

    Iran’s top military figures are known as “masters of mayhem” by some, meaning they keep cool in chaotic circumstances. They’re not deterred by overlapping events.

    They will be safeguarding the nation against attacks while following the outcomes of the units responsible for the life of the former leader as his memory fades.

    They also have to keep watch over the incoming units that will protect the new Supreme Leader from attempts that will come at all angles to destabilise him.

    But it’s business as usual because America won’t change its foreign policy, and the Middle East won’t change its ways. Progress is also lost so easily in a region that has competing agendas. Any plan for peace is ruined by further relapses to terror and acrimony.

    The emergence of drone warfare as a weapon of choice indicates that Intelligence is breaking new ground. In a deadly war for ultimate survival, a prioritisation of surveillance toward the end of air superiority is resulting in successes that has put dents in the Russian armoury.

    It’s not a fight to the death, and Ukraine needs sufficient power to deter Russia with strikes that are lasting and final, but it shows a resurgence of proactivity that may outlast the war to prove useful in future. It’s unnerved Moscow’s leadership, for a start.

    The resistance to such a set of hysterical activists is found more strongly in the sharing of information, vital data, and some intelligence to make our collective work coherent, concise, and considered. This is also a requirement now of a superpower like the USA, although (unbelievably) some legal figures still believe ‘going it alone’ is possible.

    The nature of it is neither sacrificial nor indulgent. It simply reflects felt needs between both, and fills gaps in knowledge to the benefit of either democracy. It’s an arrangement because the process has to be secure and mutually beneficial. Apart from it the world order we’re a part of wouldn’t exist. It’s crucial to our mutual endeavours. It’s a safer way to be leaders together.

    While many Asian nations are now very political, and even though China has a strong political ethic, it’s the ordinary life that Chinese citizens share between themselves that poses this regional threat.

    There’s a belief that a strain of malaise has struck Asia because of changes to its political organisation, meaning that people feel less strongly about culture and have lost a sense of self in their own places.

    This is therefore the domain that China has the strongest position in. It’s due to a close watch kept over the comings and going of its own borders as well as in the media sphere and across social pathways.

    This draws the ire of powerful Asian figures because Chinese citizens and even the State itself is admired for keeping a sense of originality in its ways and maintaining authenticity in everything it does. This gives it power or influence on a continent that often fights on such matters.

    The implication of global, business, and political figures has only gone so far as to reveal a wide network of large corporate and financial interests spanning continents. These individuals aren’t guilty of sex crimes and therefore have no apology to make because of this fact only.

    The spurious claims that Prince Andrew, for example, had bought in to such a sex scandal deserves to be consigned to the recycle bin of historical narrative. He’s as guilty as any of us, placed in the centre because of an obsessive – and almighty – media clique that trails his life daily for more cuts for print.

    Jeffrey Epstein comes across as a financial figure that had more to hide in the shadows than most. It’s clear that he shouldn’t have been as trusted as he was, and inducements to give him sensitive information were worthy of being refused, more than most, but it took time for his true colours to finally be revealed.

    Iran’s new Supreme Leader has to regain control over the matters his father had engaged. Some of these are obvious, but others will have been collected up by the former leader in the course of the war mongering of his dictatorial regime.

    These are added up into the collective power that Iran has and uses to wield influence in the same region and across the world.

    It may or may not include the terror elements in places like Gaza and Lebanon. These are less easy to handle and Mojtaba Khamenei is likely to decide against maintaining them as power bases, but invite their support nonetheless.

  • Alice Weidel needs to ignore the others

    It’s not easy doing your job at the same time that chancers are peddling their lies, gravitating in the same camps as if these are battle lines that have been drawn. The similarity is helpful if it juxtaposes a person against their opposition to be seen as a contender. It’s unhelpful if everything ugly about your partner is kept on show, too.

    Alice Weidel, the leader of AfD, is a class act in German politics, and doesn’t need the bloated nonsense of Hungary’s leader, but if she seeks it maybe it’s for political purposes later. Her appearance at CPAC 2026 in Budapest is everything it should be, minus the setting. Weidel could do much better.

    Her platform is largely self-built, so say international sources, and she has a lot to go on by herself. There’s no need to be heard, just a fact of the matter leadership bid to continue for a campaign for real power in government. This is singular leadership in the modern world. It promises to be freeing if it stays just, and is right.
