Russia is fighting a war on its own behalf. It has half-hearted support from states that join in on its resounding condemnation of America’s power as a political principle. The bulk of the fighting, the movements, and the targets are its own choosing.
As the belligerent it has more questions to answer than Ukraine. Ukraine’s only duty is to defend itself. Moscow has to litigate the ‘Special Military Operation’ that it deems to be necessary.
Whilst believing in its own supremacy is a right it has because of politics, the invasion of a democratic state has violated international rules and norms. The death and destruction it’s pursued is a fake concept of peace.
The real response should be reeducation, sanctions on military industry, and a reorientation of its position elsewhere, but for now, diplomatic meetings may help end the invasion itself.
